New mid-size luxury sedan leaked online ahead of this week’s debut.
The next-generation 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has leaked online, ahead of its global debut on February 24.
Images published by Spanish enthusiast forum Cochespias show Mercedes-Benz’s new mid-size C-Class sedan in full – in both standard and sporty AMG Line guises – revealing a softer, more contemporary look inspired by the brand’s more recent models, including the new S-Class limousine and facelifted E-Class executive sedan.
Up front, a rounded-off grille is flanked by LED headlights similar to those of the S-Class, with the former styling feature set to offer a choice of patterns depending on the variant selected, from a sportier design on AMG Line variants to a three-pointed star pattern featuring the German brand’s logo on other grades, as revealed in the leaked photos.

Along the side, the new C-Class benefits from smoother, cleaner surfacing and body creasing than those of its predecessor, while at the rear a pair of slim, S-Class-like LED tail-lights feature.
Inside, the ‘baby’ S-Class theme continues, with a large portrait-oriented central touchscreen joined by a freestanding digital instrument cluster and a new three-spoke steering wheel.
Set to be unveiled at midnight (AEDT) on the morning of Wednesday, February 24, the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class is expected to feature the brand’s latest technologies, from advanced semi-autonomous driving systems to its newest MBUX infotainment system.
Under the bonnet, the German brand has confirmed six- and eight-cylinder engines will be dropped for the new model, with all models – including the performance-focused AMG models – to opt for four-cylinder power.
European media drives in recent weeks indicate the ‘core’ range will be led by the C300 4Matic, combining a 190kW 2.0-litre turbo petrol four-cylinder with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive, the lattermost expected to be standard in European markets.
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be unveiled globally on February 24, with an Australian launch expected by the end of this year.
